The Buckingham Palace

Is the London official residence of the British Royal Family, since 1837. It is currently the residence of Queen Elizabeth ll.
It was built in 1703 or the Duke of Buckingham, it was later used by King George lll as a private residence. During the two world wars the palace survived in an exemplary way.

Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms. These include 19 State rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 Staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms. The building is 108 metres long across the front, 120 metres deep and 24 metres high.

Today, Buckingham Palace is very much a working building and the centrepiece of the UK's constitutional monarchy, serving as the venue for many royal events and ceremonies. More than 50.000 people visit the Palace each year.
