LOUISE ARNER BOYD
          WOMAN EXPLORER

Louise ARNER BOYD was an American explorer of Greenland and the Arctic who was born in 1887 in the State of California.

She wrote extensively of her explorations and she was also the first woman to fly over the North pole privately with a DC-4 plane.

Since she came from a wealthy family she didn't have problems to finance her trips.

In 1918 she worked as a nurse during the Influenza Epidemic in Egypt and Europe.

After her parents' dead in 1919 and 1920 her interest on the Arctic began and she travelled again to Europe. Soon later she went on a trip to the Arctic.

As soon as she returned from the Arctic she started another trip where she had to look for a man called Umberto Nobile and another explorer that went before Boyd, Amunsden, to find Nobile. Unfortunately Amunsden was never found but, nevertheless, she was presented with a medal by the King of Norway.

In 1934 she was elected as Delegate in the International Geographic Center in Warsaw, Poland.

With the outbreak of WWII her knoweldge of the Arctic and Greenland zone became of strategic significance, so eventhough they didnt let her publish a book, she worked on secret assignments for the US government.

In 1949 she was awarded with the Department of Army Certificate Appreciaton.

Louise had a life full of adventures.

She died in 1972, but she will never be forgotten. Her soul will always be with us on her books and quotes.

Storm Chasing. 

Nowadays a lot of people go storm-chasing. 
Storm chasing is an activity that consists of seeing storms. 
This activity makes the participants go to unusual sites, and with unusual sites I mean not turístico places. 
The advantage of this fact is that it allows people who don’t like to have planned holidays to have an exciting time. 
It is also an advantage to witness natural disasters without caring about our safety. 
The disadvantage of going to unusual places is that it’s not usually comfortable, wether because pf going to inaccesible rocky places nor having the personal equipement required. 
For many people the principal disadvantage is that it's not a calm activity. 
So, for people who are in love with nature, you should do this activity but for those who like a planned accomodation, with any type of worries you should better do something else.

Guess what ? I've just had an awesome mark at the specific SAT and I've got a full scholarship for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

I only wanted to thank you for these entertaining and amazing 2 years because you helped me to improve my english and it wouldn't have been possible without your help.

It was very hard for me to study scientific subjects in a foreign language even though I have achieved my goal now. But for this achievement I had to take myself away from a lot of chilling moments like going out with my friends and parties principally.

Ziyad's Island

Ziyad's island is the recently billionaire Ziyad Saber new adquisition.
It’s situated in the North Pacific. This beautiful white sandy place is sourrounded by a turquoise sea.
It has a lot of entertained activities that can be done under supervision such as sky diving, bumpee jumping, rafting, sea diving etc.
An innovative thing that has been constructed on this island are the bungalows that are in the middle of the sea, and to reach them, the only way to do it is by boat.
This amazing island can provide to you a lot of good memories because it's very cheap, even though you can only arrive there by a 30 min boat.

Ellen Church

Ellen Church (September 22, 1904 - August, 1965) was the first female flight attendant. 

She was a strong and revolutionary woman who was born in Cresco, Iowa. After graduating from high school, she obtained a nurse title and became the first fly stewardess. 

When she started looking for a job, it wasn't so easy, she kept looking for months but eventually she started working at the BAT (Boeing Air Transport) in San Francisco. Years later, she served for the U.S Army, and earned and air medal, then, she decided to retire and move to Terra Haute, Indiana. In Terra Haute, Ellen met the man of her dreams, the director of the National Bank of Terra Haute, Leonard B Marshall, so, they fell in love, and got married. 

Sadly Ellen died in a horse accident in August 1965. 

There are no books about her yet, but a lot of writing companies are competing, so they can write a biography about her.

I choose this picture because I like very much the beach . Probably it's in the Caribe or Bahamas . It's the same , because the clean water and the white sand are the same in both places.

In this place you can spend a good time , with your family , with your friends or with your couple if you want a romantic travel.

If you're stressed in your city , and you have a lot of problems in the job and the routine can be annoying , I can suggest you to go to places like this where you can forget all your troubles and give time to yourself.

The relax is also very important in our life don't forget it.

Delia Akeley

Delia Akeley born December 5, 1875 Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Commonly known by her nickname Mickie was an American Explorer.

Delia Akeley had a life of adventure. With her second husband, Carl Akeley, the traveled to Africa in search of a special elephant specimens for the museum of a natural history in New York and she got save the Carl’s life in one of those dangerous hunts.

Back in the United States took with her a Monkey which he had to teach him how to behave, but this specimen of monkey learned very quickly that fascinated him and she didn’t abandon his passion for Africa and decided to travel alone to the Belgian Congo to explore this lands where this monkeys lives.

Delia Akeley died in 1970 at the age of 94, he is one of the first authors who write a anthropomorfic biography of the monkeys.

MARY HENRIETTA KINGSLEY.

Mary Henrietta Kingsley was born in London on October 13, 1862 , four days after the wedding of her parents.

She is an english traveller who doesn't care about the convention of her time and traveled through western and equatorial Africa and became the first European who entered in Gabon.

When she was 30 years, she decided to go to West Africa to study the African religion, in order to complete a book whose father (George Henry Kingsley) left without end.

He visited many cities and places like Cabinda,Calabar, the island of Corisco,Cameroon...

Her writings, expressing her strong sympathy for black Africans.

Kingsley wrote two books about her experiences : Travels in West Africa (1897), which was an best seller, and West African Studies (1899)

She died in Simonstown, South Africa on June 3, 1900, at the age of 37. As requested, her body was taken to sea on a warship, and was buried at sea.

Taj Mahal

Taj mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the Yamuna river in the indian city of Agra.It was commisisioned in 1632 by the Maughal emperor Shah Jahan .

The Taj mahal complex is believed to have been completed in this entiretyin 1653 at a coast estimated at the time to be around 32 million rupees ,which in 2015 would be approximately 52.8 billion rupees.

The construction project employed some 20,000 artisans under the guidance of a board of architects led by the court architect to the emperor,Ustad Ahmad Lauhauri.

The Taj Mahal was designated as a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1983 for being the jewel of  Muslm art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the worlds heritage.

The small town to the south of the Taj ,Known as Taj Ganji or Mumtazabad ,was originally constructed with caravanserais,workmen.

Osa Johnson was born in 1894 in Kansas and died after 56 year in New York. She was an american explorer , filmmaker and writer . She went through the African continent with her husband Martin Johnson.

Osa visited a lot of countries in Africa and Asia too with his husband Martin. They made a lot of films about these exotic lands. The couple spent most time of their life studying the wildlife in these faraway lands , most of americans didn’t know anything about these countries so both Osa and Martin offered  many Americans their first understanding of these distant lands. Wonders of the Congo, Jungles Calling , African Paradise are one of the best documentaries made by this couple. They also wrote some books like the best-seller named « I married Adventure ». They have also a museum which is located in Osa’s hometown  , founded in 1961 to to preserve the Johnsons' achievements and to improve the next  research in their fields of study. The museum started with a collection of the Johnsons' films, pictures, notes, articles, books, and personal belongings donated by Osa's mother.

I think they made improvements in the exploration field .And also worked a lot in their books and films. We can say that they are one of the best explorers in the twentieth century.

Bora Bora Island

In the first pictures we can see Bora Bora Island, it is an amazing and beautiful place to visit.

She has a lot of many tourist all the year ( spring. winter, autumn and summer) but the people prefers to go in the summer.

There are bars on the beach and the sea is different shades of blue.

The Island Bora Bora is situated in the Mediterranean sea and into the sea we can see twenty-seven bungalows for all families.

Finally I recommend all the people to go to this Island because it is an amazing experience.

Taj Mahal.

The Taj Mahal an historic building situated in India , in the city of Agra.That building was built by Indian's workers around the year 1860 , i don't know the correct year. 

The Taj Mahal it was built because of the big love from the emperor of India Sulayman to her wife.

I think her wife doesn't have children, so he decided to build it to her. Sulayman has a lot of wife's but he build the Taj Mahal only for her, like i said before.

Agra is a city with an enormus number of population and has got too a high number of tourist by year visiting that place.

i would love to visit that place in a near futur see what the beautiful of the building in live not for the internet .

Valentina Tereshkova was  born on 6th March 1937 and she died in 1999.

Valentina studied a carrer as a pilot, a militar pilot, ingenieer and a spacewoman .

Tereshkova as a Sovietic spacewoman , was the first woman who travelled to the universe in a mission in Vostok , a Sovietic space programm that contained around six missions.

The problem now is that I don’t know if I should buy it here or in Spain; cause Moroccan computers have a very bad reputation, because sometimes they are not original. Tell me your opinion.

DESCRIPTION OF A PLACE

Mountain Elbrus is located in the western part of Caucasian mountain (Russia). It is the highest mountain in Europe and one of the most visited sites.

Elbrus has an altitud of 5642m. It is best known for its cold temperature and for being a rocky place. What makes watching impressive views. One of the activities there is the ski, because in Elbrus are a lot of snow during all over the year. The origin of this mountain is a volcano wich currently is at rest.

Millions of tourist visited this mountain every year and for good reasons. It has spectacular scenery!! So if you don't known any place to travel, go to «Mountain Elbrus»

UNUSUAL TOURIST SITE

When people travel to new places, they can have positives or negative thoughts of the places so there will advantages and disadvantages.

I going to talk about the advantages of visiting an unusual site. When people visit new sites, they meet many new places, that they never see and this places draw our attention for their different ideas, of our. They can meet new scenery, museums, landmarks,... ; they can enjoy the new foods and learn new things of their cultur, religion,... .

If there are disadvantages in visiting a new unusual site, would be because, when the people visit a new place that they never knew before and never they seen before, if they don't have a tourist guide or anyone there to help them, this people can be lost or just don't enjoy the new place.

How are you? I hope it's ok. Here every thing is fine and will be better, as I got in the military academy. You already know, I studied hard to get into.

It is a big academy. It has many clasrooms, workshops, big areas where there are planes and expensive gardens with football and basketball fields. Also the bedroom are very big and well decorated.

The only problem is that they catch our phones and we get them back only at weekends.

HILDA PETRIE

Hilda Mary Isabel Urlin was born in 1871 in Dublín and she died in 1957. She was the youngest of her sisters, and the daughter of Mary Urlin (mother) and Denny (father). Hilda married with Flindre Petrie. Flindre was a great englesh archaeologist and Egyptologist. Hilda had two children Ann and Jhon.

Hilda studied geology and was an Egyptologist. Thanks to her husband, she started wor-

king, because he hired her to work with him. Hilda did many trips where she excavated and recorded numerous sites in Egypt and later in Palestine, where sometimes worked with Flindre and sometimes worked on his own.

She also worked like a secretary in the «British Archaeology School» founded by her husband.

I think Hilda is a great women, who gave everything for his job and his family.

By visiting an unusual tourist site you are going to experience new things that you never did or saw before.

Starting with the advantages, it is a good way to do different and unusual 

activities because in a typical tourist site usually all the activities are the 

same so it can be very boring for some people. Also, there is an advantage 

very important is that you can pay less than  a typical tourist site.

But everything has its disadvantages that is why i think the people who go 

in this kind of activities like or don't care about the danger they are 

facing. 

Unusual tourist site

Visiting an unusual tourist site can be all advantages if you know well the site that you are visiting. Because some sites often cheat people.
If you geat cheated , it is a disadvantage because ibviously you lose money.
And the worsl thing is that you feel cheated.

Nevertheless, if you know the site , the advantages are that they give you ideas and different options that you can choose, keep in mind your situation. But you cand find disadvantages, if the site sells you false information about the trip.

Another advantage of sites it is that its cheap than buying it from the company.

Women Explorer - Bertha Benz

Bertha Benz was born in 1849, Pforzehim - German. She was an automobile pioneer and wife and business partner of automobile inventor Karl Benz.

In August of 1886, Bertha Benz, without permission of the authorities and without telling her husban, who had failed to consider marketing his invention adequately, she drove from Manheim to Pforzehim to prove him that the automobile will become a financial succes.

So, once it will be shown to the general public, this will give him confidence for his near manufacturing of future cars.

Along the way, several people were frightened by the automobile.
But they did not know that the drive was the key event.
That is why she becomes the first person to drive an automobile over a long distance.
She reported everything that had happend a long the way and made important suggestions, solving numerous problems of the automobile.

Her trip, also, proved to automobile industry that test drives were essential to their bussines.

In doing so, she bought tje Benz-Motorwagen worldwide attention, and got the company its first sales in 1886.  Benz presented the Patent Motor Car to the world. Within the decade , 25 vehicles had been built.

In 1944, Bertha Benz was honoured with the title "Honourable Senator", by the Technical University of Karlsrute. But, unfortunately, she died two days later in her villa.

Description of a place ( Assel )

Taj Mahal of Agra is the most beautiful of all. It is one the most important of the wonder of the world. It is a symbol of love between a king and her wife about what I heard. We had a group visiting for this memorable monument , the visit was organized by the History professor, who organized the trip.The journey started early in the morning and we were there by 12.30. When we were there , we saw that millions of tourists come to see this beautiful monument. At night Taj has a very beautiful shining effect and visitors are always taking photographs of the building. It was a good experience because I learned a lot of things about the building. The views they were also very beautiful.

Guess what? I have saved up enough money to buy that car I've always dreamed about.

I'm so happy and proud of my choice. It's a very car, not to big but not too small, the perfect size for me. The car is very fast and I love that. It's really comfortable, easy to drive and has a large trunk, so we will make many trips.

The only problem is which colour to choose, black or white? I like both.

The advantage of visiting an unusual tourist site is that you never did this before. All are new experiences and feelings you never imagined before. And doing all the time the same things makes you feel bored, it is important to change sometimes. The problem with visiting an unusual tourist site is that you can have very bad experiences or don't like the activities. Maybe the best thing to do is to go to a typical tourist site, but as everithing if you don't try you don't know if you like it or not.

If you want to do new things and have new experiences, think before choosing that unusual tourist site.
