Woman explorer

ALEXANDRINE
TINNE
Alexandrine Tinne was born on the 17 October 1835 in the Netherlands. She became famous because she explored important parts of Affrica.
When she finished to explore Africa, she attempted to reach the Touaregs in 1868 but failed. After that, in 1869, she again made an attempt to reach the Touaregs. She started from Tripoli, in Libia with a caravan. In her route she met the German explorer Gustav Nachtigal, and with him, tried to cross the desert of Sahara. When he wants to go to the Tibesti Mountains first, she set out for the south on her own. In their caravan they all had many diseases, and she wasn't able to keep order in her group.
Tragically, in one early morning she was murdered by Tuareg people, and she couldn't achieve her goal to reach the Touaregs, but she became famous for her attempt to cross the Sahara desert.
