Ann
Bancroft, was born in 1955 in Mendota Heights (Minnesota) and she
graduated
at St. Paul Academy and Summit School. After, she studied in the University Of Oregon.
She was an explorer, an author and teacher and always, she described her family.
In
1993, four women had to lead the expedition to the South Pole on
skis, but in 2001 Ann was the first woman to cross the ice on both
poles with a Norwegian explorer Liv Arnesen.
Finally, she
did an advertising campaign against a proposed amendment to the
Minnesota Constitution which prohibits any legal recognition of
marriages or civil unions between members of the same are.
