In 1929,
British journalist Grace Marguerite set off from Lakehurst (New Jersey) by
plane. The objective of the trip was to go around the world.
People
warned her about the dangers and said to her that she couldn´t do that because
she’s a woman, but Marguerite ignored their opinions. She wanted to become the first woman to go in
a trip around the world by plane.
She stops
in Friedrichshafen, Tokyo and Los Angeles. She arrived 21 days after New York.
After this
trip her career as a journalist consolidated for the next decade.
Years
later, she went to war zones such as Abyssinia (Ethiopia) and was a foreign
correspondent in Manchuria (China).
